Richie is coming with two months of CRAU from Thisavrou, which includes the following:
🎙️ Richie arrived in Avagi in December 2017. It was trippy, but Bill and Stan arrived at the same time, and Richie immediately found out that Eddie was there too, had been for a month. That sucked, but the fact that he was there at all was like a Christmas miracle.
🎙️ Except Eddie doesn't get some of his awesome pop culture references. Or his jokes. Actually, he also remembers things differently than Richie does. It's the same with Bill. Turns out they're from different decades entirely. It's almost unbelievable, until an event later that month allows them to experience each other's pasts.
🎙️ That same event later allowed them to see the future. It's not as great as it sounds. Richie finds out that he's destined for fame and fortune, but the price is at being alone in the world, and no longer being friends with his best friends. He also saw himself and most of the other Losers return to Derry to face It again. That alone is terrifying, but then Eddie dies. In his arms. And the others convince Richie to leave Eddie in the sewers.
Witnessing this causes a huge rift and a lot of hurt in the group. Richie punches Bill, Eddie runs off. They all eventually talk about things and get on better terms.
🎙️ Richie is determined to ensure that future doesn't come to pass, and it's his idea for all of them to do another blood pact to bind themselves to that.
🎙️ Ultimately it doesn't take long for the Losers to get back to normal, as much as they can. Eddie indirectly comes out to Richie. It challenges the views he grew up with, but he decides to support his best friend anyway. It's all done without explicitly discussing it; they understand each other quite well.
🎙️ There was also a demon who attacked Eddie and broke his arm. That prompted Richie to start learning self-defense, because he wasn't there when it happened, and he wants to make sure he can protect his friends should something like that again. With the amount of time he was in-game, he didn't get very far.
🎙️ The station flooded and Richie started taking care of a baby compy. It was awesome.
Personality:
To anyone who has ever encountered Richie Tozier for even five minutes likely came to the obvious conclusion: he is a class clown. Truly, he is possibly one of the most obnoxious children to have ever existed. He has a comment to make about everything, and nine times out of ten, it's crude, profane, or otherwise crosses a line that shouldn't be crossed. It's all done in the name of comedy, though. If the plethora of 'your mom' or dick jokes aren't enough, he also has his voice impressions--which are far from the mark, as every variation just sounds like Richie rather than anything he's attempting.
It's his mouth that causes him many of his problems. He's an energetic, excitable, impulsive, fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants sort of kid who doesn't know how to shut up. The lack of a filter not only causes problems with adults, but also with the Bowers gang, a group of older, unruly teenagers who enjoy terrorizing the Losers (and really, everyone else.) The extreme case of the Bowers gang aside, Richie can be a difficult person to get along with, despite his being a fairly outgoing person. His jokes aren't for everyone, and there's not much of an appeal in interacting with him if someone isn't capable of either rolling their eyes over it or dishing it back to him.
At the core of Richie's behavior is a desperate need for attention. His parents are inattentive, leaving Richie up to his own devices and looking elsewhere for the attention and validation that he needs. His entire attitude is very much one that involves laughing at the world. It's easier to make jokes about everything than deal with emotions, and it's gotten to the point where his sense of humor remains intact even when he's the target of whatever unfortunate circumstance. Part of this is also due to his using humor to act as a shield to mask his insecurities.
Because he often feels invisible and ignored at home, he has developed deep insecurities about being forgotten, ignored, or abandoned. This is something Richie has to confront when he goes to the Neibolt house with Bill and Eddie. He first sees a missing persons flyer for himself, stylized like those of all the kids in Derry who had gone missing. Seeing the flyer, with the photo being of him in the outfit he was wearing that day, was enough to send him into sheer panic.
This is quickly followed up with Richie having to face his own mortality when he encounters a coffin with 'found' written on it, which held a decomposing Richie-shaped doll. Prior to this, and his interactions with It as a whole, Richie didn't fear much (just clowns), and didn't really acknowledge what death was, or that it was something that affected everyone. Up until this point, he embodied the invincibility of youth.
All of Richie's faults aside he's a loyal and dedicated friend to those he's close to. He can be relied on to be there for his friends when it matters most, even if it's a situation that he doesn't want to be involved in. Part of the reason he wound up going into the Neibolt house with Bill at all is because he trusts Bill and looks up to him a lot, despite how much he actually doesn't want to be there at all. He agrees to go back a second time because his friends needed his help. However, he's not the sort to blindly follow, either. He questions things, and tends to make his opinion known, even if it's something he disagrees with.
He isn't a traditional hero by any means, but he also has his own sort of bravery, where in select circumstances, he disregards his own safety for that of his friends. Most notably, in the moments following Eddie breaking his arm, where his focus is entirely on trying to help Eddie despite It still being in the room and potentially moments away from killing all of them. Another, of course, is when he chooses taking the opportunity to try killing It rather than making a clean getaway and leaving Bill behind. (Honestly, how could he even, anyway.)
Basically, Richie has the potential of being incredibly annoying with his awful jokes and voices, but he has more depth than what can be seen at face-value. He's a good kid who means well, regardless of what asinine thing comes out of his mouth.
His time in Thisavrou was short and because of that he didn't have time to grow immensely, but he was deeply affected by the emotional trauma from witnessing future events. While he is still very much the same boy, he also matured enough to take the initiative to set things right among his friends, and actively wants to grow into a better adult than the version of himself he saw.
Abilities/Skills: Great sense of humor! Great jokes! Voices and impressions leave much to be desired, but it's trying that counts, right. He's also great at giving people nicknames that can make 'em feel special even if they're total losers.
